What does your software do?

Metropoliplan has been specially developed for public witnessing in urban areas. It enables the coordination of a large number of publishers across multiple congregation.

How does your software help me organizing SMPW in my area?

The coordinator and his helpers can assign publishers to shifts and ensure that someone always takes on the role of team leader. Shifts are allocated according to location, time, and availability of participants. Additional information such as service privileges or special requirements, e.g., that a car is needed, can also be recorded.

At what number of participants does it make sense to use your software?

The number of participants isn’t the factor in deciding whether to use our software. It can work well for smaller groups, starting at around 100 participants. The software is especially helpful when multiple congregations or complex organizational structures are involved. For smaller projects, it’s worth considering whether its structured approach simplifies coordination or adds unnecessary complexity.

How much does it cost to use your system?

We are not running this project for profit. The software is free to use. Some third-party services involved in operating the system may have ongoing costs, but these are handled separately and do not affect access to the system.

Do I need to install/run anything on my computer?

No, nothing needs to be installed. It runs through your browser and also works well on mobile phones.

Are there any automatic features that help me save time?

Absolutely, because that’s what it was built for. Teams can be organized either manually or automatically. Each publisher has their own account through which they can log in and out. Each publisher can see important information about their assignments, apply for shifts, withdraw applications, and offer themselves as substitutes on their homepage. With automatic planning, an algorithm generates suggestions for assignment planning, taking your local criteria into account. This means it does most of the work for you.

What about data protection?

Data protection is very important to us. We ensure that data processing is carried out in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, in particular, of course, the GDPR and the DSGJZ. For information security, we adhere to the IT baseline protection of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). For components requiring a high level of protection, we only work with service providers who have the relevant ISO 27001 certification. If you would like to see for yourself, we would be happy to send you our data protection and IT security concept.

Is the software suitable for older people and those who are not familiar with technology?

Yes. We strive to make the program as simple and intuitive as possible.

Is an app required? How can publishers access your software?

An app is not necessary. Since Metropoliplan is completely web-based, you can simply open it in your browser and place it on your phone’s home screen, just like an app. There is no need to download anything from an app store.

Do users need a smartphone/ internet access?

Internet access and a valid email address are essential, as offline functionality is not available. A smartphone is not absolutely necessary, but it makes things much easier.

I need comprehensive reports. Are they available?

Yes. Reports on publisher activities can be generated using the software.

How do I add participants to the software?

To set up a location, we first import all participant contact data. If new publishers join later, you can easily add them yourself.

What other theocratic activities can your software be used for?

Metropoliplan was primarily developed for organizing public witnessing in metropolitan areas. However, it can also be used for other projects such as Disaster Relief Committees (DRC), truck witnessing, boat witnessing, or coastal carts.

What language do participants need to know to use the system?

Metropoliplan can be displayed in German, English, Spanish, French, or Russian—at least for now. If anyone is willing to translate the software into another language, they are welcome to do so at any time.

Can I plan to use the system for the next 5 years? How secure is the long-term use of the system? (Conversions are always very costly and some data is lost.)

The team consists of several brothers, all of whom are capable of continuing to operate the system. In addition, we have experience operating the system, as Metropoliplan has been in use since 2017. This means we have already moved past the early stages , and the system is stable for long-term use. Theoretically, you can use it until the New World, although we naturally hope that completely different possibilities await us there.

We don’t know each other personally. Okay, you are brothers (as evidenced by the jwpub address), but neither Bezalel nor Oholiab. Why should I trust you?

We’re not perfect, but we take this project very seriously and do our best to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible. We are happy to provide you with our documentation or put you in touch with reference projects so that you can form your own impression.

If I have problems with your system, what should I do? And when can I expect a response?

We have a support address that you can contact if you have any problems or suggestions. Urgent problems and emergencies are dealt with immediately. Less urgent requests are dealt with afterwards. All brothers and sisters in the team do this in their spare time. Alongside family and theocratic commitments, which, as you know, can sometimes be very limited.

How many users and projects does your software have?

There are 28 clients spread across Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Argentina. Metropoliplan is currently used by 11,400 publishers (as of July 2025).
